Opened in early 2010, just in time for the Winter Olympics, The Keefer Bar was among the first few bars to carve out the contemporary cocktail culture in Vancouver. Located in the heart of historic Chinatown, the cocktail program takes it’s inspiration from the local Chinese herbalists. A sign reading “Medical Center” hangs high on the backbar, alluding to the concept of cocktails as remedy.

General Manager, Keenan Hood, has been here since day one. Starting out as a bartender, he moved to Bar Manager, to GM, and eventually to a partner in the business.

Amber Bruce, Bar Manager, has been with the Keefer Bar since 2015. Accruing a number of accolades, including 2019 Vancouver’s Bartender of the year, Bruce oversees the beverage program. Her bar team is helmed by Lead Bartender Hugo Finan.

Tristan Young manages the daily operations.
